Under the slogan “Information that matters to You-th” the United Nations Youth Association of Lebanon launches “Inform Youth” the first website in Lebanon displaying updated fact sheets, studies, interviews and recommendations by young Lebanese activists to improve the status of the Lebanese youth policy. The website is part of a research project in partnership with the Office of Transition Initiatives of Lebanon (the United States Agency for International Development) and is a first step towards setting a monitor for the national youth strategy expected to be implemented by 2012.

The United Nations Youth Association of Lebanon,in partnership with the leading professional cameras’ company Canon, proudly present “Eyes on the MDGs”, a photography contest dedicated to capturing the Lebanese efforts towards the achievements of the UN 8 Millennium Development Goals. “Tweet up with the Lebanese Shadow Ministry” is a special gathering by UNYA Lebanon in partnership with the Lebanese Shadow Government for young civil and cyber activists who Twitter, to meet up with their peers in the youth government, ask them live questions on Inform Youth findings and about their role in furthering the state of the Lebanese Youth Policy, and to create a possible action plan with the young ministers. The tweet up will also invite high representatives of the official Lebanese ministries directly concerned by youth. |
“Thoughts Count” is a leading online campaign by UNYA Lebanon which plays the role of a medium between the voices of the younger citizens and the decision makers. The main objective is to give youth answers to their questions and not only a space to talk. Young Lebanese Citizens are invited to write their thoughts, concerns, recommendations, suggestions, commentaries, evaluations, criticism and analysis about the different aspects of their “status” in the public life in Lebanon.
